FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Plant information

Most begonias thrive in shade or semi-shade, always avoiding direct sun. Indoors it is recommended to put it in a room with sufficient natural light or next to a window. In terraces or gardens, it is recommended to avoid the areas most exposed to sunlight.

At Begoniasymás we recommend the use of classic clay pots with a drainage hole. This type of pots made with clay or terracotta, allows the roots to be well aerated thanks to its porosity and avoids excess humidity as can occur with plastic pots. In addition, they are more sustainable than plastic ones, have greater durability and can be recycled to obtain new raw materials such as sand and aggregates. We also recommend the use of biodegradable pots since it is the most ecological and sustainable option, although they last less than clay pots and do not retain moisture as well.

It is not possible to indicate an exact watering frequency since it will depend on the type of plant, its location, the pot and the substrate it presents. As a general rule, it is advisable to avoid prolonged waterlogging, whatever the species, since it can rot the roots. Generally, if the optimal environmental conditions for the plant are met and a good substrate has been chosen, it is recommended to keep the substrate slightly humid in the case of begonias and let the substrate dry between watering and watering in the cultivation of cacti and succulents.

Information about our store

We pack each plant with care and dedication in a special packaging of 100% recycled and recyclable sticks that prevent movement and breakage of the plant within the package. We also reuse packaging materials such as bubble wrap and shredded papers in order to give it a second use before recycling. For national shipments we use the Correos express 24h company, so you will receive the plant at your home just 24-48 hours from its collection in the warehouse. Begoniasymás will inform its customers in case of delay in delivery as soon as it becomes aware of it.

To avoid that the plants are retained during the weekend by the transport company, we only make national shipments on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, while we only make international shipments on Mondays.

We ship to the entire Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. We do not ship to Ceuta and Melilla or to the Canary Islands.

We ship to the entire territory within the European Union. Due to customs issues, we do not ship to Islands belonging to member countries of the European Union, such as

Make sure that the package does not show any damage or bumps caused by the shipping company (in this case, take photos before opening it and if the content has been damaged, contact us in less than 24 hours). Once opened, remove the packaging being very careful not to damage the leaves of the plants and keep it for at least a day in a shady and cool place before transplanting it. You can moisten the substrate a little if you find that it is too dry. Keep in mind that, especially tropical begonias that live in high humidity environments tend to lose some leaves during transport due to their delicacy, it is totally normal for these types of plants to arrive somewhat more damaged. We recommend watering with distilled water the first day and keeping in a container with high humidity. It is the customer's responsibility to find out before purchasing a species with special maintenance requirements.
